Melbourne Victory concludes its Foxtel Y-League regular season with a clash at home to Perth Glory on Sunday.

Victory is on a five-match unbeaten run, including a 2-1 Melbourne Derby win over City last time out.

It is set to finish second in Group A as it completes the campaign against Perth at Epping Stadium.

Victory head coach Gareth Naven said he was looking forward to a tough test against a Perth side that is unbeaten in three games.

“We’re improving, they’re improving, we’re getting more competitive, they’re getting more competitive, so I expect a very tough, tense and close encounter for the last game of the Y-League competition,” he said.

“We’re just trying to approach it on building on what we’ve done in the last three games and understand the opposition are trying to do the same that we’re trying to do.

“They’ll be rolling into an NPL (National Premier Leagues) competition as well as what we are.

“We’re looking forward to the challenge ahead.”

Pierce Waring and Birkan Kirdar were on the scoresheet against City, the former netting for the sixth time in as many games this season.
